ABOUT ME
My name is Leanne Stephan. I am from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I am a fourth-year BFA student at Alfred University School of Art and Design, Alfred, New York. Class of 2019.
Art is a way for me to express my feelings toward this world. It is my own interpretation of the concepts I value, the conditions I disagree with, and the notions I want to explore. Art is the best way for me to release my abstract consciousness and gain deeper insights to my existence.
Language is defined as "the system of communication used by a particular group." I want to investigate language, the translation of it, and perceptions of others. Relying on the perception of my art provides me with insights to myself, the environment I exist in, and how social conditions influence reactions.
The purpose of creating is to perpetuate my awareness of my dynamic self and the ever-evolving environment around me.
